Tax Considerations: VAT and Storage Options

Unlike gold, silver is subject to value-added tax (VAT). To cater to your preferences, Euporos SA provides two storage options:

1. Storage in Switzerland: Opt for storing your silver in Switzerland, where VAT applies.

2. Storage in an "Open Customs Bonded Warehouse": Select our warehouse solution, exempt from VAT. While physically located in Switzerland, the goods remain within a designated "under customs" zone. Only when they leave this zone are customs duties and VAT applicable. As long as the goods are kept within the warehouse, they are entirely exempt from these charges. There are no time limits for storage duration.

Please note that, due to tax regulations, we can only store imported ingots in this facility, not those manufactured in Switzerland. We have carefully chosen the reputable brand "Umicore," a renowned European multinational, for this purpose.

Storage Fees and Personal Allocation

The storage fees for VAT-exempted ingots are equivalent to the fees for storing VAT-applicable ingots in Switzerland. These fees amount to 1% of the deposit value, with an additional 0.2% for insurance coverage.

Rest assured that each ingot is allocated to you personally, accompanied by a detailed storage certificate. Every ingot bears its unique serial number, reinforcing the individual ownership and ensuring transparency.

Sell-back Option and Customs Clearance

At any time, you have the option to sell your ingots back to Euporos SA. If you choose to collect them in person or have them shipped to your location, customs clearance charges and the VAT of the destination country must be settled. These fees are calculated based on the ingot's value at the time of withdrawal from the customs bonded warehouse.

VAT: Silver (and additional services such as delivery, certificate of authenticity, etc.) is subject to value added tax (VAT) in Switzerland and the European Union. If delivery is in Switzerland (shipping or storage), Swiss VAT of 7,7% applies. If delivery is to outside Switzerland, the customs duties and VAT of the destination country apply and must be paid by the recipient upon receiving the parcel.
