Gold coin 20 Swiss francs Vreneli
This coin is internationally famous and easily negotiable. More than 58,6 million copies have already been produced. It is by far the most important and the most popular coin.
There is no Vreneli issue after 1949.
The Vreneli has a 20 Swiss franc face value. Purity 900 thousandths. The 20 franc coins have a diameter of 21 millimeter, weigh 6,45 gram and are 90% pure. Weight of fine gold : 5,801 g.
The term "Vreneli" is only used for the 20 franc coin. The 10 franc coin is called "half-Vreneli"
The flipside has a head-and-shoulders portrait of Helvetia who is wearing a diadem, in front of a mountain landscape. Under the portrait, we can see the signature "F. LANDRY".
The other side of the 20 franc coin shows the Swiss coat-armour.
